Commercial Security Systems

CCTV, Electronic Access Controls, Delayed Egress, these are all terms familiar to locksmith security professionals. It is very convenient to have a security system that is designed to provide audit trail and allow staff to move about freely on your premises. Workers need to focus on the work they have to do and usually do not want to be inconvenienced by locks that require keys or locking systems that do not recognize their badge or other token being used as a “key”. Modern electronic access control systems are available that recognize the token in possession of the staff member and unlock the door for them without even losing stride. A person could attempt to tailgate that individual into the area being secured and the system would not recognize that the person has access to enter that area. At the same time, an audit trail can be maintained of the staff member’s entrance, with time and date stamp. Closed circuit TV monitoring of this same area allows all activity to be seen either by live security staff or time lapse video recording that can be viewed later, should an event occur. In other areas of your workplace, theft can be stopped by installing delayed egress exit devices on doors that are at high risk of being used to exit with stolen property. Delayed egress exit devices prevent someone from being able to immediately exit a door. Instead, they will only unlock after a specified period of time, usually 15 to 30 seconds, during which time an alarm will sound.
